Coronation Beach located 28km north of Geraldton, Western Australia is your ideal spot if your looking for a great surf beach and your keen to spend the day windsurfing for kite surfing. Travel along North West Coastal highway and turn off onto a sealed road and that will take you to the beach and camping area.
The beach area itself has parking for people wanting to visit for the day, plus many camping spots. There is about 10 sheltered areas and a few bbq areas scattered around. There is a playground for the kids, pit toilets and shower cubicles however you need to provide your own water. The camping area has limited shady areas and you need to be aware of possible snakes as the area has quite dense scrub. There is a beautiful lookout on the top of the hill and we recommend taking a photo from there.
During peak season the sites full up quickly and there is a caretaker onsite to assist with any bookings. Camping fees are pretty cheap at only $7 per night and your still with in a reasonable distance to a major town.
