For a town of about 100 people, this small country town in the Wimmera of Victoria has now become a must stop tourist attraction due to the amazing painted silos. We must admit, whilst we have driven past Brim numerous times in the past its never been a spot we would consider camping or stopping for that matter. Well our attitutude to Brim has certainly changed and this is all due to the Brim Silos.
WHERE IS BRIM & THE BRIM SILOS?
Located 359km north west of Melbourne, Brim’s home is on the Henty Highway. The Silo’s are located right on the highway and you will drive past them. The nearest township is Warracknabeal which is 25km south of Brim.
BRIM SILO’S ARTWORK
Brim has risen to popularity due to the painting by Guido Van Helten on unused grain silos. The Silo Murals at Brim stand at 30 metres tall and display 4 local townsfolk. 3 men and 1 woman. How Guido completed the paintings on these massive silos to absolute perfection is amazing. The Silo Art Project has been a major investment for the Yarriambiack Shire and its paid off. Since the first silo at Brim was completed in late December 2015, all the surrounding communities have benefited with the influx of tourists. Years of drought have impacted the communities and with tourists visiting and spending money in these towns it has certainly helped for morale.

There are 6 painted Silos in the Silo Art Trail. Brim, Sheep Hills, Patchewollock, Lascelles, Rupanyup and Rosebery. We love the Brim Silos, however its not our favourite. BRIM CARAVAN PARK
If youre planning your trip to the Brim Silos, why not stay at the local Caravan Park which is on the banks of the Yarriambiack Weir Pool.
The cost for a stay at the park is $10 per night for either a power or unpowered site. For a drought stricken area, we were pleasantly surprised with the good facilities here. Toilets, Showers and a Change Room, pity there is no mirror though. Outside wash up area, along with BBQ facilities on small patch of green grass, with a good playground for the kids.
If you’re keen to go swimming in the lake there is a nice beach front area for swimming or canoeing and the boat ramp is close by for launching of your ski boat. With the caravan/camping sites, they are all gravel or dirt however there is plenty of shade available from the large gum trees.
We didn’t camp here as we had just taken a day trip, however its a place that we want to come back and camp in the warmer months. Its a low cost camp with good facilities that is family friendly. Planning to stay here, please pay your camping fees at the Brim Hotel or Dixons Garage.

Hi There Elizabeth Nicolle, hope your well 🙂 Coming to Vic is going to be exciting for you. Brim is located on the west side of the state of Vic, its between Mildura and Horsham. I would recommended doing the Yarriambiack Shire Silo Trails, this incorporates the Brim, Pattchewollock and Sheep Hills silo trails. There is also a new silo to be started to be pained in the coming weeks, thats at Rupanyup. All these locations are located near enough/in between Mildura and Horsham. There is plenty of water in the Brim Lake atm, and the caravan park is right on the lake which is convenient for you stay! If you need any other recommendations let me know.
